In Memoriam of DAVID Y. KIM

David Y. Kim is the founder and principal of the Law Offices of David Y. Kim.


Mr. Kim received his Juris Doctor from the University of Oregon School of Law where he was named a Phi Alpha Delta Scholar. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Reed College in 1974.  He is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of California, the Federal District Court for the Central District of California, the U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States.


Mr. Kim has practiced in the field of United States immigration law for over 30 years.  During this period, he  has obtained “green cards” for thousands of clients in addition to procuring non-immigrant visas of all types for a varied clientele of multi-billion dollar international corporations,small and medium companies, nonprofit organizations, universities, and individuals from around the world.


Mr. Kim has served as a past president of the Korean American Bar Association of Southern California and has served as a Judge Pro Tem for the Los Angeles County Superior Court.  He is a frequent writer and lecturer in immigration law.  His articles quotes, and comments concerning cases of interest have appeared in the Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times, and the Korea Times.


He has been an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association since 1981.
